Send a question
How do I order?

Fill out the order form on the Order page with the piece you want, your steel preference and where it ships. Wayne replies with the total, your place in the build queue and how to send the deposit. Nothing is charged until you approve it.

How long does it take?

Everything is made to order, one at a time. You will be told the lead time before you pay, not after.

Is shipping really included?

Yes, to the lower 48. The listed price is what you pay. Alaska, Hawaii and international orders are quoted separately, and some countries restrict blade imports, so ask first.

Which steel should I pick?

Cutting: 1095 holds the best edge. Chopping and batoning: 1075 takes impact better. Axes and tomahawks are 4140. Near salt water: 440C stainless. Tell the shop what the blade will do and you will get a recommendation.

Can I see the work in person?

Yes. Wayne is doing live forging demos at the Runestone Park Viking Festival in Heavener, Oklahoma on October 24 and 25. See the Events page for details.

How do I keep high carbon steel from rusting?

Carbon steel patinas, which is normal and protective. Wipe it dry after use and put a light coat of oil on it before storing.

Can I get something custom made?

Yes. Combat builds, everyday carry, spears, swords and one-off commissions are all quoted on the build. Say what you need and what it is for.

Is there a warranty?

Every blade is forged for life: free re-grinds forever, free re-handling on any failure, and replacement if it breaks in honest use. You pay shipping one way.

When do classes start?

Classes in bladesmithing and ornamental ironwork are in the works. Join the waitlist from the Classes page and you will hear first when dates open.
